The Case of the Mysterious Lobsterpot
Posted on 27. May, 2009 by admin in Latest News
Just like in Coleridge’s Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Tecla send word that they spent a day yesterday in the blazing hot sun with water all around them and not a breath of air. They did spy Kruzenshtern on their port side and made contact, both agreeing that the wind was a fickle thing.
Another thing they spied was a small container that looked like a lobsterpot, which appeared to be stuck in the same place, unmoved by the waves or wind. As the water beneath them was over 5000 metres deep they realised it wasn’t possible it could be anchored, so what was it and how was it staying in place?
The task for the crew overnight was to think up a story behind this mysterious lobsterpot, was it a lift to a land where mermaids live, or maybe it is attached to a hidden pirates treasure..?
The fleet’s progress on the race can be seen via the fleet tracking.
The list of all the vessels positions on corrected time can be seen in the Vessel Positions Update.
